As a Dramatherapist with over 25 years experience, I believe Dramatherapy can play a leading part in this transformation. I offer Dramatherapy sessions in both English and Spanish and have my own private practice in North West London.

What is Dramatherapy?

Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses varying arts, such as stories, drawings, body sculptures, images, music and movement to express, explore and work through conflicts and difficult issues.

When we lose the capacity to value ourselves , our world becomes smaller, rigid and often seems empty. We may feel stuck, numbed or overwhelmed by emotions. As this happens, we tend to isolate ourselves from others.

Dramatherapy offers the possibility to explore, express and work through emotions such as anger, fear or shame using creative media. This is an empowering process which helps us to have better understanding of who we are and what we want from life. When we are aware of our emotional and behavioural patterns, we are able to start dealing better with conflict.

Important to note is that you do not need to have experience in drama or talent for art to have dramatherapy sessions.

How does it work?

The use of varying art forms allows you to explore, in an indirect way,  emotions and the obstacles which can be preventative to gaining what you want from life. 

The process of externalizing what you think and what you feel using the creative media helps you to have a different perspective of what we are struggling with. You may discover and open up to other possibilities of seeing a situation in different ways.
